Through its new Enviro-Fleets pilot project, FCM aims to help municipal fleet managers reduce GHG and criteria air contaminant (CAC) emissions associated with the operation of heavy duty diesel (HDD) fleet vehicles. Supported by Environment Canada, the pilot project will run from December 2009 to March 2011.
Share your knowledge
FCM is gathering information on how municipal fleet managers across Canada are working to reduce the environmental impact of their HDD fleet vehicles. Your feedback on this topic would be very helpful and much appreciated. Here’s how you can help:
- Contact Lisa Hatina, project coordinator, at lhatina@fcm.ca or 613-907-6267 to submit any resources or contacts that you think would be useful to other municipal fleet managers.
- Download the fleet profile data request and submit the completed form by e-mail to lhatina@fcm.ca.
Any data or feedback you submit will not be made public without your consent. Information collected from municipalities will be aggregated into a Resource Guide for Municipal Fleet Managers, a publication aimed at sharing best practices for reducing emissions from municipal fleets.
Stay tuned!
Check these pages in summer and fall 2010 for new tools and resources:
- A new guide to useful resources on reducing HDD fleet emissions, featuring technologies, publications, leading projects, and funding information.
- A best practices guide recommending measures to reduce HDD fleet emissions.
- A webinar profiling municipalities leading the way in reducing HDD emissions.
- Regional training workshops on GHG reduction strategies for municipal fleet managers.
- Great examples of successful municipal projects and practices, contacts and other useful resources.
